OBJECTIVE: To assist employers to upgrade the skills of current full-time, current part-time or seasonal employees to meet current or future skill needs. This primarily involves the purchase of training.

OBJECTIVE:

To assist employers to upgrade the skills of current full time, current part-time or seasonal employees to meet current or future skill needs.

ELIGIBLE SPONSORS:

Aboriginal Bands/organizations. Aboriginal/Non-Aboriginal small business and/or corporations.

ELIGIBLE CLIENTS:

Current employees, either existing or newly hired, Boards or Chief & Council. Priority to those at risk of lay off due to changes in their position or training which will enable them to access a broader range of occupations. Training is specifically intended to meet current or future skill needs.

ACTIVITIES/EXAMPLES:

Computer Skills, Office Skills upgrade, Management/Supervisory Skills, Industrial First Aid, Financial Management Skills, Administration Skills, Human Resource Planning Skills, Negotiation Skills etc.

TIME FRAME:

Negotiable.

WAGE SUBSIDY:

Replacement Costs for employee hired during regular employees extended absence (More than 1 week).

MANDATORY EMPLOYMENT RELATED COSTS

(EI, CPP, Vacation Pay, WCB or Equivalent)

Up to 100% of wage replacement costs.

TRAINING COSTS:

Off-the-job - up to $20 per participant training hour.

OVERHEAD COSTS:

No allowable Overhead Costs

SPECIAL COSTS:

Only as required. Equipment lease/rental related to activities (i.e. chainsaw, computer, vehicle rental) Costs to assist disabled workers (i.e. special equipment, renovations, one-on-one special training) (Maximum up to $7,500).
